‘Green Bench Talk’ – A Socially Inclusive Environmental Initiative

On Wednesday 8th March 2023, Chairman Anthony Roberts joined representatives from the CEDAW Committee of Trinidad and Tobago (CCoTT), the Flying Tree Environmental Management (FTEM) and the UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme Trinidad and Tobago (GEFSGPTT) for the unveiling of a bench made from upcycled plastics in the Aranguez Savannah.

These plastic lumber benches are associated with the project known as the ‘Green Bench Talk,’ which is a socially inclusive environmental initiative aiming to stimulate gender messaging in public spaces, particularly addressing violence against women, girls and children.

The CEDAW Committee of Trinidad and Tobago (CCoTT) alongside the Flying Tree Environmental Management (FTEM) and the GEF Small Grants Programme Trinidad and Tobago (GEFSGPTT) intend to uphold their partnership with regional corporations for this venture, as they aim to continue educating and raising awareness through the means of innovative gender environmental messaging.
