On Saturday 17th December 2022, the San Juan/ Laventille Regional Corporation hosted its Chairman’s Dinner and Award Ceremony at the Cascadia Hotel and Conference Centre, to honour members of the region who contributed exceptionally to the development of their communities for 2022.

This event also marked the official close of the 30th Anniversary and Region Month celebrations. The feature address was delivered by Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs, The Honourable Stuart Young. Other specially invited guests consisted of Minister of Education the Honourable Nyan Gadsby –Dolly, Minister in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, the Honourable Adrian Leonce with other members of Parliament, Chairmen and members of Council being in attendance.

With this event being focused on rewarding excellence, commitment and service awards were distributed to staff members, departments and influential figures residing in the respective communities for their contributions in the categories of business, education, sports, community and culture.

Entertainment was also showcased in this event, reflecting all aspects of Trinbagonian culture with performances by the Shiva Dance Group, Myron B, the Soul Oasis Dance Group, Karene Ashe and the BB Serenaders.
