On Saturday 12th November 2022, the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation hosted a Cultural Explosion on the San Juan Promenade showcasing various cultural performing groups from the region. This event is one of many being hosted by the Corporation as it marks its 30th Anniversary and Region Month.
These activities were marked with the launch of an Interfaith Service followed by a Military Parade, on Sunday 30th October 2022. These events were followed by other engagements such as a Senior Citizens Luncheon which was held at the Mt. Hope/Mt. Lambert Community Center for elderly persons within the district and a free cultural show which displayed the region’s various cultural groups and individuals in the areas of steelpan, dance, song, storytelling and drumming.
These events, were open to the public and provided an opportunity for the Corporation to show its appreciation to members of its municipality. Other activities consisted of a Parang event at Round About Bar Carpark on Saturday 10th December, before being closed off with the Chairman’s Dinner and Awards on Saturday 17th December at the Cascadia Hotel and Conference Centre.
