International Women’s Day 2021

The San Juan/ Laventille Regional Corporation in understanding the sensitive climate of women’s safety both locally and internationally held its first breakfast meeting with the women in leadership roles at the Corporation on March 8, 2021 at Hyatt Regency, Trinidad, celebrating the theme #ChoosetoChallenge.

Spearheading this initiative, Councillor for Success/ Trou Macaque; Adana Griffith-Gordon co-ordinated the breakfast meeting at Hyatt Regency, Trinidad with especially invited guest; Dr. the Honorable Nyan Gadbsy-Dolly; Minister of Education, Senator The Honorable Donna Cox; Minister of Social Development and Family Services in show of appreciation and leadership roles at the helm of their respective ministries. Among those present were; Councillor Joy Benjamin (St. Barb’s / Chinapoo), Councillor Kimberly Small (Barataria), Councillor Jodi Johnson (San Juan West), Chief Executive Officer of the San Juan/ Laventille Regional Corporation; Mrs. Dianne Lakhan, Administrative Officer II Mrs. Marilyn Kangoo, Corporate Secretary Ms. Leah Hector and women in senior roles at the Corporation.

A break away from the office environment and tasked with leadership roles and issues, confidence filled the conversations and occasional bursts of laughter as they unanimously agreed that as women, their skills and unmeasurable capacity is unmatched as they continue to steer and rise above any challenges, bring unique and desired solutions to the forefront, both professionally and at home.
