On Friday 12th May 2023, the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation held the SJLRC Youth Council elections whereby all the form four students belonging to the twelve (12) secondary schools within the district, took to the polls to vote for their respective candidate. This electoral process mirrored that of Local Government elections and the Council’s existing structure, which ensured Youth Council representation for the fourteen electoral districts. The Chairman, Vice Chairman, Aldermen and Chief Executive Officer positions were filled based on the school’s recommendation along with the completion of an interview. These results of all successful candidates and nominees were announced on Tuesday 16th May 2023 which are highlighted below.

Upon the success of this initiative, the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation would like to thank the Ministry of Education, the principals and teaching staff from the various schools, the members of Council along with all the students who participated and contributed to the first installment of the SJLRC Youth Council.
